The federal cabinet meeting in connection with ongoing tension in the Middle East, Pakistan has  preiority to restore confidence and brother relation between Iran and Gulf countries.

An important meeting of leaders and representatives of parliamentary parties is underway under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also took the parliamentary leaders into confidence about the Pak-Afghan situation and contacts with the leadership of the Middle East.

According to sources, Foreign Office officials briefed the participants on the country’s foreign policy after the Iran-Israel conflict. Participants were told that Pakistan had made every effort to reduce the intensity of the conflict. During the briefing, the Deputy Prime Minister informed them about its bilateral relations with the Gulf and Arab countries. Participants were also briefed on the ongoing operation against the Afghan Taliban regime on the western border.

Officials said that Pakistan immediately condemned the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei and the attacks on Iran. During the briefing, participants were informed about Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts after Iran’s attacks on the Gulf and Arab countries. Reducing tensions between Iran and the Gulf countries is Pakistan’s top priority.

It should be noted that the opposition was divided over participation in the government’s in-camera briefing on regional and global situations, including Afghanistan, Iran, and the Middle East. Maulana Fazlur Rehman accepted the invitation, while the PTI’s political committee refused to attend the briefing, citing the lack of a meeting with the PTI founder Imran Khan.
