ISLAMABAD: Pakistani security forces responded to unprovoked firing by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) along the border in the Qila Saifullah sector, Balochistan, Sources said on Tuesday.
According to security sources, the TTA once again carried out provocative firing from Kanyan Thana targeting the Faisal Post in the Qila Saifullah sector. Pakistani forces responded effectively and in a proportionate manner to the TTA aggression.
The response involved precision engagement of seven TTA posts and thanas using mortars, drones and tanks, the security sources asserted.
As a result of the operation, TTA fighters reportedly suffered casualties and abandoned their positions, fleeing the area.
Officials said Pakistani forces remained vigilant and fully prepared to respond to any future provocations, adding that the country would not tolerate cross-border aggression.
