PESHAWAR: A strong earthquake jolted several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening during Iftar, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes while reciting Quranic verses.

According to locals, tremors were experienced in Peshawar, Dir Bala, Parachinar, Nowshera and Abbottabad. The earthquake struck during Iftar, prompting people to gather in open areas while reciting prayers.

Residents described the tremors as strong and lasting for several seconds. However, no immediate reports of casualties or property damage were received from the affected areas.

Authorities have yet to confirm the magnitude and epicentre of the earthquake. Further details are awaited.
