ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has once again exposed Indian media’s disinformation tactics aimed at spreading instability and mistrust in the region.

In an official statement, the ministry condemned the false and misleading reports circulated by Indian outlets, particularly NDTV and Republic News India, accusing them of promoting hatred and regional discord.

The statement pointed to a recent NDTV report that falsely claimed militants from the Khorasani faction had ambushed and martyred 22 Pakistani soldiers in Kurram on October 8.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) promptly refuted the claim, clarifying that the operation took place in Orakzai, not Kurram, on October 7 and 8. It confirmed that the intelligence-based operation resulted in the martyrdom of 11 soldiers and the elimination of 19 militants.

Similarly, Republic News India was called out for fabricating a report alleging that Khorasani militants carried out 16 attacks on Pakistani forces within 24 hours. The ministry confirmed that this was entirely false, as only one intelligence-led operation had been conducted, neutralizing five militants.

A spokesperson for the ministry stated that the Indian media, acting under directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, has turned into a “propaganda factory,” deliberately spreading anti-Pakistan narratives and providing indirect support to terrorist elements.

The ministry warned that such reckless reporting endangers regional stability and peace. It urged the international community to take serious notice of Indian media’s role in fueling tensions and undermining efforts for peace in South Asia.

The government of Pakistan called on global institutions and watchdogs to hold Indian media outlets accountable for their divisive and irresponsible conduct, emphasizing that such disinformation campaigns pose a direct threat to regional harmony and security.
