COLOMBO: In a crucial match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup, Pakistan batted first against Namibia, setting a formidable target. The national team scored 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allocated overs, establishing a target of 200 runs for their opponents.

The captain won the toss and opted to bat first, though the start was not particularly promising. Saim Ayub was dismissed for only 14 runs. However, after the early wicket, Sahibzada Farhan and captain Salman Ali Agha took charge, forming a vital partnership of 67 runs for the second wicket. Salman Ali Agha scored 38 runs off 23 balls before being dismissed.

Khawaja Nafie did not last long at the crease, returning to the pavilion with just 5 runs to his name. Following this, Sahibzada Farhan played exceptionally well, adding an unbeaten 81 runs alongside Shadab Khan for the fourth wicket. Sahibzada Farhan scored a brilliant century, 100 runs off 58 balls, including 11 fours and 4 sixes. Shadab Khan also contributed significantly, finishing with 36 runs not out from 22 balls, featuring 3 sixes and a four.
