ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Pakistani pilgrims planning to visit Iran and Iraq, urging them to verify their flights before departure amid continued uncertainty over air travel in the region.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, pilgrims travelling to Tehran, Mashhad and Najaf must confirm their flight schedules in advance and avoid relying on unconfirmed flights. They have also been advised to make alternative travel arrangements to prevent disruptions.

Registered pilgrims and group organisers have been specifically instructed to verify the status of flights to Iran before finalising their travel plans.

Meanwhile, direct flights from Iraq to Pakistan have resumed following a temporary suspension, with the first flight arriving at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport.

Airport authorities said Fly Baghdad flight IF331 departed from Baghdad and landed in Karachi carrying more than 100 passengers, marking the resumption of direct air connectivity between the two countries.

Fly Baghdad had temporarily suspended its Pakistan operations due to regional tensions and the prevailing war situation.

Direct flights between Iraq and Pakistan had previously resumed on May 25, 2026, but were suspended again amid renewed regional uncertainty.

The latest restoration of flights is expected to facilitate travel between the two countries. However, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised pilgrims to confirm their flight status before departure and remain prepared for possible changes to their travel schedules.
