LEEDS: Pakistan were bowled out for 171 in their first innings on the opening day of the first Test against England in Leeds.

Pakistan’s batting line-up struggled throughout the innings, with the entire team dismissed for 171 in 48.1 overs.

Abdullah Shafique was the leading scorer of Pakistan with 61 runs whereas Imam-ul-Haq made 42 runs and captain of Pakistan, Salman Ali Agha also made 21 runs.

Azan Awais and Ali Usman scored zero runs, Shan Masood and Saud Shakeel made five runs each, whereas Mohammad Rizwan scored 12 runs.

For England, Ollie Robinson and Josh Tong made good performances by taking five wickets each.

England had won the toss and elected to bowl first.

While talking about the toss, Salman Ali Agha said that he had been given the captaincy in place of Babar Azam and said that the whole team was ready to face the challenge in Test series.

Salman said that Pakistan has arrived to win the series and had hoped for a good start. Moreover, Pakistan would have batted first had they won the toss.

Meanwhile, a proposed schedule for a historic ODI tri-series featuring Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka has emerged, with the tournament set to be hosted in Pakistan in October.

According to sources, the three-team tri-series will be played between October 18 and November 1, with matches being arranged in the cities of Rawalpindi and Lahore.

The first leg of the tri-series is to take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium with matches taking place on October 18, 20 and 22.

The second leg will take place in Lahore with matches proposed on October 25, 27 and 29. The final match is to be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on November 1.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to finalize the schedule in consultations with the participating boards. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that England and Sri Lanka will participate in an ODI tri-series in Pakistan in October-November 2026.

The proposed tri-series is one of many fixtures that are scheduled for the home season of Pakistan. Sri Lanka have also been scheduled to play two tests and three T20I matches against Pakistan in Pakistan and the venues and the dates for those matches would be finalized after talks between the two boards.
