The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has announced the successful completion of the final day of Pakistan’s first national polio vaccination campaign of 2026. Over six days, more than 44.1 million children under five years old were vaccinated across the country.

In Punjab, over 22.9 million children received polio drops, while in Sindh, more than 10.4 million children were vaccinated.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw around 7.1 million children immunized, and Balochistan recorded nearly 2.32 million children receiving polio drops.

In Islamabad, over 455,000 children were covered, Gilgit-Baltistan reached 261,000 children, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir vaccinated over 673,000 children.

More than 400,000 polio workers visited homes across the country to ensure that every child under five receives protection against polio.

The NEOC urged parents to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that their children are administered the polio drops.

This polio campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan to strengthen regional efforts to eradicate the disease.

Parents and community members are encouraged to welcome polio teams into their homes and to ensure that all children under five are vaccinated.
