CHAGAI: Security forces have killed two militants and arrested two alleged facilitators during an operation in the Siah Chang area of Chagai under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna III, according to a statement issued by the security forces.
According to the statement, security personnel were conducting a checkpoint operation after receiving information about the presence of militants in the area. During the operation, personnel signalled a suspicious vehicle to stop.
The driver allegedly attempted to flee after seeing the checkpoint, prompting the Quick Reaction Force (QRF) to pursue the vehicle. The occupants reportedly opened fire on the security personnel during the chase, leading to an exchange of fire.
Security forces said two militants were killed in the ensuing operation, while two alleged facilitators were arrested.
A significant quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the vehicle. The seized items included One M16 rifle with two magazines, one 9mm pistol, one sniper rifle with scope, 63 LMG rounds, one walkie-talkie set, three mobile phones and two bandoliers.
According to the security forces, the recovered weapons and ammunition were allegedly intended for use in targeted killings and suicide attacks against civilians in Balochistan.
The statement said security operations against militants would continue until the threat is eliminated.
