PESHAWAR: Development projects in Tirah are set to move ahead faster after the Khyber district administration abolished the requirement for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the tendering process.
Deputy Commissioner Khyber has directed all relevant departments and executing agencies to ensure the timely execution of ongoing development projects in Tirah Sub-Division and complete the tendering process without unnecessary delays.
According to an official letter issued by the deputy commissioner, departments and executing agencies will no longer be required to obtain an NOC from any department or institution before floating tenders for development projects.
Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to the Chief Secretary, Planning and Development Department, Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Frontier Corps, Commissioner Peshawar Division and other concerned authorities.
The letter said the socio-economic development of the people of Tirah is among the top priorities of the provincial government and relevant institutions, with a number of schemes launched to improve infrastructure and public services in the area.
All executing agencies have been directed to complete ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe and ensure that public funds are used wisely, efficiently and transparently.
The deputy commissioner also instructed authorities to implement development schemes under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP), Accelerated Sustainable Development Initiative (ASDI), special packages and other programmes according to approved standards and specifications.
Officials have been directed to strictly follow all applicable provincial laws, rules, regulations and government instructions while executing the schemes.
The letter further clarified that contracts for development projects will be awarded transparently under the relevant procurement laws, with no NOC required from any party for the tendering process.
