A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum was held under the chairmanship of Senator Manzoor Ahmed, in which officials said that LNG will not be available in the country after April 14.

Officials said that for this year, we had postponed 2 cargoes per month, LNG supply from Qatar has been completely stopped since March 2. Officials said that 8 cargoes were to arrive in March, out of which 2 arrived, 6 cargoes were to arrive in April, Sui Southern has cut gas supply to a fertilizer plant by 50%.

He said that the supply of the power sector has reduced from 300 MMCFD to 130 MMCFD, gas will be supplied to domestic consumers, the gas requirement of the power sector will not be able to be met in April.

Officials say that the needs of the power sector will be met from other sources, LNG can be purchased from an Azerbaijani company, spot purchase will be up to $24, while gas will be available from Qatar at $9, this will generate expensive electricity.
