ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that there has never been any discussion at any level about shifting Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan abroad or to Bani Gala.
Speaking to the media, Defence minister Khawaja Asif said rumours about a possible deal is being circulated to keep political speculation alive.
He emphasised that while there may have been approaches regarding facilities for the PTI founder, but no conversation had taken place about relocating him either overseas or to his Bani Gala residence.
Talk of a deal is spread to keep this product in the market, the minister said, adding that there was nothing left in such claims and that such narratives were aimed at keeping political relevance intact.
The defence minister also criticised the announcement of release force by the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi saying the move was unconstitutional and illegal.
He claimed the chief minister’s position was under threat and that the announcement was aimed at safeguarding his office. No one other than the federation has the authority to form a force, he added.
