The American newspaper ‘New York Times’ has released new satellite images confirming that Pakistani planes have targeted Bagram Air Base, the Taliban’s most important military centre in Afghanistan, causing severe damage to the base.
According to the New York Times report, piles of rubble and collapsed warehouses can be clearly seen inside the airbase in the satellite images. The report reveals that the bombing by the Pakistani Air Force has completely destroyed the warehouses that were once used as a ‘nerve center’ during the 20-year US war in Afghanistan.
The newspaper writes that Bagram Air Base was a very valuable military asset for the Afghan Taliban, which has been rendered useless by Pakistani attacks. The images show damage to key parts of the base and infrastructure, which is believed to be a major setback for the Taliban’s air and logistical capabilities.
This development comes in the context of recent tensions and airstrikes along the Pak-Afghan border. While Taliban officials have been trying to cover up the damage, independent international media and satellite evidence have confirmed the intensity and success of the attacks.
