ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has revised the tax rates for registering imported mobile phones from the iPhone 14 series, effective until April 2026.
These new tax rates apply to users registering their devices with either a National Identity Card or a passport.
For the iPhone 14, the tax has been set at Rs 30,321 for registrations via National Identity Card, while those using a passport will pay Rs 27,860.
For the iPhone 14 Pro, the registration tax will be Rs 34,101 for users with a National Identity Card and Rs 31,640 for those registering with a passport.
The premium model, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, will have a tax of Rs 48,235 for National Identity Card registrations and Rs 42,615 for passport registrations.
Earlier this month, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)’s Directorate General of Customs Valuation increased the customs value for 62 models of old and used mobile phones, which include premium models such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
It is important to note that the PTA does not determine the registration taxes for mobile phones in Pakistan; these taxes are set by the FBR based on the import value of the devices in U.S. dollars.
