ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide alert warning of strong winds, dust storms, and gusty conditions across multiple regions from June 10 to 13.
According to the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC), the prevailing weather situation is in line with forecasts issued months earlier.
The authority warned that Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh are likely to experience severe windstorms, dust-laden winds, and localized storms during the period.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Peshawar, Quetta, Karachi and several other cities are expected to remain under the impact of strong gusty winds. Southern and coastal districts of Sindh may witness intensified wind activity on June 11.
NDMA cautioned that reduced visibility, disruption in daily life, damage to weak structures, signboards, trees, solar panels and temporary installations, as well as possible interruptions to electricity and communication systems, could occur due to the severe weather conditions.
Citizens have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during strong winds and secure rooftop objects and other vulnerable structures.
NDMA also urged the public to stay updated through the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert mobile application.
