ISLAMABAD – Following the conclusion of the Eid-ul-Fitr and Pakistan Day holidays, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has officially resumed its full-scale operations across the country as of Tuesday, March 25, 2026.

With the holiday break ending, the authority has transitioned from the specialized Ramadan timings back to its standard, multi-shift duty schedule to manage the significant backlog of applicants. All NADRA centres will observe a mandatory prayer break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Fridays. Saturday Operations: Most regional and district centres remain open on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM to facilitate working professionals. Public Advisory: Managing the “Post-Eid Rush” NADRA officials have noted a sharp increase in footfall at centres in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad since reopening. To avoid long queues, the authority has issued the following recommendations: Go Digital: Citizens are urged to use the Pak ID mobile app for CNIC renewals, modifications, and Family Registration Certificates (FRC). NADRA recently reinforced that Digital IDs are legally equivalent to physical cards for all official transactions.

Off-Peak Visits: For urgent in-person processing, applicants are advised to visit Mega Centres during late-night or early-morning hours, as these facilities operate in three shifts (Morning, Evening, and Night). Verification Ease: A reminder remains in place that first-time applicants can obtain CNICs without birth certificates through biometric verification of immediate family members. until December 2026.
