PESHAWAR: To improve environmental protection and sustainable tourism in the region, a modern Wastewater Collection and Treatment System launched in Galiyat on Sunday.
The newly established system under the auspices of Galiyat Development Authority (GDA) is termed a step towards ensure clean and green Galiyat. The plant was inaugurated by Special Assistant to CM KP for Tourism, Culture, Archaeology and Museums, Malik Adil Iqbal as a chief guest. Apart from others, the GDA Director General Muhammad Fawad, senior GDA officials, government officers, elected representatives, and local dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
The newly launched system is designed to collect and treat wastewater using modern technology, helping to reduce pollution, protect Galiyat’s natural environment, and preserve the area’s scenic beauty.
Officials said the project would improve sanitation for local residents while providing tourists with a cleaner and more pleasant environment.
In their respective speeches, the speakers highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting eco-friendly development and sustainable tourism. They described the wastewater treatment system as a key initiative to safeguard Galiyat’s natural resources and reiterated that environmental conservation would remain a top priority alongside tourism development. They said that special attention was being paid to eco-friendly projects to maintain the natural beauty of Galiyat.
