KARACHI: MG Pakistan has officially launched the second-generation MG ZS in the country following a week-long social media campaign, introducing the compact SUV with hybrid powertrain options for the first time in the local market.
The new MG ZS is available in three variants Vibe, Hybrid plus Excite, and Hybrid plus Essence. The Vibe serves as the entry-level model powered by a conventional 1.5-litre petrol engine, while the Excite and Essence variants feature MG’s latest hybrid technology.
According to the company, the second-generation ZS is longer and wider than its predecessor and has been completely redesigned with updated styling and improved features.
The flagship Hybridplus Essence variant is equipped with a 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain producing 212 horsepower and 465Nm of torque, paired with a 1.83kWh battery and a three-speed hybrid transmission.
The SUV comes with a range of premium features, including a panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), an electric tailgate, ventilated seats, heated side mirrors, and intelligent headlight control.
In Pakistan’s growing SUV segment, the hybrid MG ZS will compete with models such as the Honda HR-V e:HEV, Toyota Corolla Cross HEV, Haval Jolion Hybrid, Suzuki Fronx Mild Hybrid, and Jaecoo J5, while the petrol-powered Vibe variant will target the broader subcompact SUV market.
MG Pakistan has also announced introductory ex-factory prices for the new lineup. The Vibe is priced at Rs6.599 million, the Hybrid+ Excite at Rs7.099 million, and the Hybrid+ Essence at Rs7.499 million.
Bookings for all three variants are open with an initial payment of Rs1.2 million.
The company said the introductory prices are being offered for a limited period and will remain unaffected by any future increase in taxes. Deliveries of the new MG ZS are scheduled to begin in September 2026.
