LOWER DIR: At least 15 police personnel were injured in an exchange of fire with armed militants during a search operation in the Laram Top area of Rabat Dara in Lower Dir, according to initial reports.
Sources said the militants allegedly targeted a police vehicle with a rocket launcher completely destroying the vehicle during the attack.
The injured personnel were identified as Muftahuddin, Naseeb Khan, Rehanullah, Asif Khan (CTD), Habib-ul-Hassan, Ameer Muhammad, Bakht Baidar, Izzatullah, Mehboob Ali (CTD), Shahab, Razi Muhammad, Jawad, Nawab, Luqman Bahadur and Muhammad Nadeem.
All injured officers were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Timergara for treatment. Officials said those critically wounded were being referred to hospitals in Peshawar for specialized medical care.
