Landi Kotal Political Alliance strongly rejected National High Way Authority (NHA) toll plaza at Katta Kishta area and demanded immediate opening of border.
Landi Kotal Khyber Political Alliance organized a protest sit-in at Landi Kotal Bazaar Bacha Khan Chowk against the establishment of a toll plaza on the Pak-Afghan Highway in Jamrud Katta Kishta by NHA.
Tehsil Chairman Shah Khalid Shinwari Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Murad Hussain Afridi participated in the sit-in. Malik Masil Khan Shinwari Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Muqtaddar Shah Afridi Qari Nazim Gul Shinwari, Akhtar Ali Shinwari Ilyas Shinwari ,Saeed Shinwari and other leaders along with local government representatives and national leaders were present.
On the occasion the participants said that they reject all kinds of taxes including the toll plaza on the Pak-Afghan Highway Katta Kishta area. The participants finally demanded the early opening of the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham. The participants of the sit-in said that a jirga should be formed to resolve the aforementioned issue in Afghanistan. Earlier, the jirga leaders here had resolved the Pak-Afghan conflict.
Therefore, the Pak-Afghan authorities of both countries should resolve the aforementioned issue through jirga negotiations and the Torkham border and other borders should be opened immediately for commercial activities and pedestrian movement of passengers so that the problems of the people of both countries can be reduced.
