LAKKI MARWAT: A road blockade and ongoing protest allegedly organised by a self-proclaimed police Aman Committee in Sarai Naurang have disrupted daily life, causing severe inconvenience to residents, commuters and the local business community.

The continued closure of the road has made transportation difficult for ordinary citizens and travellers, while residents and traders have expressed frustration over the prolonged disruption.

Traders said the protest and resulting uncertainty were severely affecting business activities in Sarai Naurang Bazaar. They added that ordinary citizens were also facing considerable difficulties in commuting because of the road closure.

The absence of police and traffic personnel from their assigned duties has further worsened the situation, with traffic movement reportedly thrown into disarray in the area.

Local residents strongly criticised the situation, saying the primary responsibility of the police force was to ensure public safety and maintain order rather than block roads and create difficulties for citizens.

They said the alleged absence of the administration and traffic police had further aggravated the situation.

Residents also questioned the provincial government’s silence over the matter and called for immediate intervention to end the disruption and restore normal traffic flow in the area.
