PESHAWAR: The Hospital Director of Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, issued directives to increase the charges of private rooms from Rs 3000 to Rs 10,000 per night, bringing an extra burden for the already poor patients visiting from the far-flung areas of the province.

In a notification, the Hospital Director of Medical Teaching Institute(MTI), Lady Reading Hospital, issued directives to relevant quarters to increase hospital rooms per-night charges from Rs 3000 to Rs 10000. The decision was widely criticized by the patients, who are being admitted to the Hospital.

The hospital sources said that the fee increase would be applicable for those patients who are admitted under the Institute-based private practice(IBPP), in which private patients are under the supervision of private doctors.
