PESHAWAR: The visiting overseas employees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP) have expressed severe disappointment over the expensive and complicated visa process for the Gulf countries and have appealed to the government to tackle the issue diplomatically.
Labourers and workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are constantly applying for Gulf countries due to severe unemployment in the country, but unfortunately, there is only one centre in the province for documents, e-protector, medical, and biometrics in Pakistan, due to which the people are facing severe difficulties.
The citizens have demanded that this facility be provided at the divisional level to get easy access for timely completion with low rush and less hassle. On the other hand, the strict visa policies of the Gulf countries have increased the problems.
The visiting workers said that special discussions should be held at the diplomatic level with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar to facilitate all matters for overseas Pakistanis.
Naeem Akhtar, a resident of Buner, said that he spent a huge amount on fulfilling the visa requirements. Due to a large number of people waiting to get their biometric it has become a difficult process, he added.
He also alleged that some people are giving bribes to get an advanced appointment.
