ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has secured a major milestone at the Asia Pacific Information Communication Technology Alliance (APICTA) Awards 2025, held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, by earning both of Pakistan’s finalist spots and winning top honours among 17 participating countries.
According to official details, only two finalist entries from Pakistan were selected for the prestigious regional competition, and both originated from KP.
The Dastak App, representing KP’s innovative governance model, secured first place in the Government & Citizen Services category, securing a winner’s award. The app was praised for its public service efficiency and digital reforms.
The second project, the Tourist Information Management System (TMIS) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, also gained significant international appreciation. TMIS emerged as a finalist in its category, receiving praise from judges for its innovative tourist management features.
Many other countries expressed interest in adopting the system’s technology, highlighting its global potential.
Officials stated that these achievements demonstrate KP’s progress in digital governance, modern technology and public service reforms. They said that the province’s performance reflects its growing leadership role in shaping the future of a digitally empowered Pakistan.
KP’s recognition stood out among strong participants from Australia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and other Asia-Pacific countries, marking a noteworthy accomplishment for Pakistan at the international level.
