PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed inaugurated the state-of-the-art Combat Drone School and Elite Mechanical Workshop at the Elite Training Centre. The first-of-its-kind Combat Drone School is a great achievement of the UAV Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, which will not only teach the youth to fly drones but also to make modern drones from various components and use them for espionage, surveillance, attack and rescue in the field.
This drone school is in line with all the contemporary and military requirements of the modern era, which will not only serve as a shield against the attacks of the terrorists of Fitna-ul-Khawarij, but will also help in highly effective attacks in difficult locations without endangering human lives, without the help of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police. The most special feature of the school is the use of the first-person view system, which allows the drone to be guided through narrow streets, rooms or trees with great speed and accuracy, making it easy to target both stationary and moving targets.
After the inauguration, the IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visited different parts of the school and inspected various drones and anti-drone systems. He interacted with the training instructors present on the spot and got to know about various modern parts of drones. The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also visited the Elite Mechanical Workshop after the inauguration, which is designed to learn more about different bore and type weapons and test their capabilities to the limit. He interacted with the armourers present in the workshop, checked various weapons and praised the skills of the staff.
On this occasion, the police chief said that drone technology was acquired in response to the new tactics of terrorists, and the modern drone school is part of this effort. He said that this combat drone school will enable the force to accurately target terrorists and their hideouts, hiding in narrow passes and difficult mountains. He further said that the mechanical workshop will prove to be a game-changer in improving the effectiveness and capability of the modern equipment and weapons provided to the police force, and making it even better. The IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the police personnel are the embodiment of determination and courage, with the best equipment and training, they will be able to combat terrorism effectively.
