PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police has provided advanced drone technology to sensitive districts across the province as part of efforts to strengthen counterterrorism operations.
Following a series of terrorist attacks, modern drones have been deployed in 27 districts to enhance surveillance capabilities and support security operations, according to police officials.
The newly installed drone technology is loaded with the state-of-the-art thermal imaging facilities, which will enable them to perform covert operations, help during emergencies, and also support intelligence agencies in surveilling the suspected militant hiding places.
The modern drones also come with multi-system sensors as well as artificial intelligence technology for efficient intelligence operations.
Modern technology has been provided to several high-risk districts, which include Peshawar, Lower Dir, Swat, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Kohat, Kurram, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Police authorities said that with modern equipment, the security responses in the province could be greatly improved along with better intelligence-based operations as well as dealing with emerging security challenges.
