PESHAWAR: The official Facebook page of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission (KPHCC) was hacked, leading to the posting of inappropriate and objectionable images and content.

The hackers gained complete control of the page, deleting all previously shared information, notifications, and updates, and replacing them with offensive material.

This incident has caused widespread outrage and concern among the public and social media users, who view the breach of a sensitive health sector institution’s official page as a clear indication of administrative vulnerabilities.

Many users called on both the provincial health department and the Healthcare Commission to enhance digital security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The KPHCC spokesperson confirmed the breach, stating that the matter has been reported to the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing, which has launched an investigation.

The spokesperson also noted that the commission’s technical team is in ongoing contact with Facebook administration to regain control of the page as soon as possible.

Describing the hacking attempt as an effort to damage the institution’s credibility, the spokesperson assured that the culprits would be identified and held accountable once the investigation is complete.
