PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has instructed the deputy commissioners of all districts to prioritise the issuance of tenders for district development projects.

A video link meeting was held for the Deputy Commissioners across the province, chaired by Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur. The Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development, and other relevant officials also participated.

During the meeting, they reviewed various matters related to development projects under the District Development Plan (DDP) for all districts. The Chief Minister instructed that data related to development schemes under the DDP, along with their coordinates, should be provided within a week.

He also directed that immediate meetings of the District Development Committees should be convened to approve new development schemes. Tenders for development projects approved by these committees should be issued as quickly as possible to avoid unnecessary delays in implementation.

It was emphasised that there must be complete transparency and quality in all development schemes, with no compromises on quality or merit. Deputy Commissioners were instructed to disregard any political recommendations or pressures in this matter. They should focus on improving service delivery and the monitoring of development projects.

Deputy Commissioners have been granted full authority concerning development projects, which comes with corresponding responsibilities. There is a clear provincial policy for development projects that must be strictly adhered to, with the broader public interest prioritised above all.
