NOWSHERA: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for failing to take serious steps for the welfare of its citizens.

After expressing condolences for the death of the mother of Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Ikhtiar Wali in Nowshera, Tarar addressed the media, stating that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s approach is “condemnable” and “regrettable.” He emphasised that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa seems more focused on political gatherings than addressing public issues.

Tarar asserted that the Chief Minister’s primary demand appears to be a meeting with the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which he labelled as illegal. He pointed out that the PTI founder is not a political prisoner, but a convicted criminal involved in a major corruption case.

The Federal Minister also alleged that the Indian media is portraying the PTI founder in a favourable light, while the PTI is leveraging both Indian and Afghan media to incite chaos in the country. He claimed that the provincial government has neglected public concerns and is instead focused on escalating tensions through political narratives.
