The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has issued a new timetable and instructions for government schools across the province, according to which students will be allowed to attend primary schools at 7:30 am and leave at 1:35 pm.
The new announcement places special emphasis on character building of students along with teaching and assembly time has been made mandatory for moral training, speeches on various topics and practical activities.
According to the instructions, students will be given moral education in schools through speeches three days a week and through various sketches on three days so that their character can be built. Moreover, all school heads have also been directed to organize ‘Bazm-e-Adab’ on the last working day of every week.
The announcement has clarified that the last three periods after Bazm-e-Adab will be devoted to staff meetings and completion of academic registers instead of teaching. To maintain the educational process, it has also been decided that in case of shortage of teachers or long leave of a teacher, school heads and subject specialists will be obliged to take classes themselves.
All District Education Officers have been ordered to ensure strict implementation of all these instructions and the new timetable.
