Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi paid an unexpected visit to the house of senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, where he was warmly welcomed by Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son Zain Qureshi.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s daughter Mehrbanu Qureshi was also present with Zain Qureshi on the occasion.
Talking to the media, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said, “This is my Pakistan, I will go wherever my heart desires, I do not need any justification to roam around Pakistan.” He added that he had come to Lahore to meet all his organizational friends.
Sohail Afridi said that the government had sent a formal letter to meet the jailed leadership, but there was no response. However, he is visiting their homes to express solidarity with his imprisoned colleagues.
The Chief Minister said that he is neither being allowed to meet his party founder Imran Khan nor the leadership. He termed the government’s behavior as a “sign of mental inferiority” and said that under the Constitution Protection Movement, it is their responsibility to hold a dialogue with the government, and if they need to run a street movement, they will do so vigorously.
On this occasion, Sohail Afridi clarified that his only aim is to establish political contacts and express solidarity with his colleagues, and he is determined to fulfill his responsibility despite any obstacles or opposition.
