Taking strict action, the police have registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers in connection with the protest that took place at Liberty Chowk in Lahore last night.
The case includes provisions such as raising anti-state slogans, interfering in the work of police personnel, and creating problems for citizens by blocking the road.
Local PTI leaders and several unidentified workers have been named in the FIR.
Police said that the protesters were warned to remain peaceful, but they took the law into their hands and obstructed official duties.
A large number of PTI workers had gathered at Liberty Chowk last night, due to which the traffic system was disrupted. The police adopted a strategy to disperse the protesters and now the process of identifying the people involved with the help of CCTV cameras is underway so that arrests can be made.
