ISLAMABAD: The federal government has reduced the price of kerosene oil by 41 paisa per litre, bringing it down from Rs289.68 to Rs289.27 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the revised price will remain effective for the prescribed period.
The Finance Ministry said the adjustment was made in line with changes in international petroleum prices. Domestic fuel prices are periodically reviewed in light of global crude oil trends, exchange-rate movements and other relevant market factors.
The latest reduction is expected to provide limited relief to consumers, given the relatively small decrease.
Kerosene is primarily used for household and other essential purposes, particularly in areas where access to alternative energy sources remains limited.
The government’s periodic revision of petroleum prices is aimed at aligning domestic rates with developments in international oil markets while taking into account prevailing economic conditions.
