ISLAMABAD: Journalist Bilal Ghouri has reportedly been arrested following a complaint filed by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) against him.
According to a social media post shared by journalist Umar Cheema, Ghouri has been missing since around 2am on September 6, 2026, from his residence in E-11/4, Islamabad. Cheema said Ghouri used the ground floor of his house as an office while residing on the first floor. His glasses and purse were reportedly found at the office, while there was no information about his mobile phone.
Ghouri’s wife, Humaira Kanwal, has also appealed for help after saying that her husband went missing from his residence in E-11/4, Islamabad, at around 2am on September 6. According to reports, Ghouri was arrested following a complaint filed with the NCCIA.
Further details about the nature of the complaints and the allegations against him were not immediately available. Ghouri’s wife said that the family approached the police to report his disappearance and submitted an application, but alleged that an FIR had not been registered so far. The journalist was initially reported missing, prompting concerns among his family and colleagues.
