ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) has warned Pakistanis seeking jobs abroad to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes and avoid paying money to travel agencies for overseas employment or work visas.
In an advisory, the bureau clarified that travel agencies are legally authorised only to provide travel-related services, such as airline ticket bookings and hotel reservations, and have no legal role in securing overseas jobs or issuing work visas.
The bureau urged job seekers not to pay any travel agency in exchange for employment opportunities abroad, stressing that recruitment for overseas jobs must be carried out through licensed channels.
To ensure a safe and transparent recruitment process, the BEOE advised candidates to use the Foreign Jobs Portal, available on its official website.
The portal enables users to verify licensed overseas recruitment agencies and establish direct contact with them, significantly reducing the risk of fraud and illegal recruitment.
The bureau further advised that anyone approached by a travel agency demanding money or making false promises of overseas employment should immediately report the matter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) so that legal action can be taken against those involved.
Reiterating its appeal, the BEOE urged citizens to verify all overseas employment opportunities exclusively through the official Foreign Jobs Portal and avoid relying on unverified sources or unauthorised travel agencies.
