ISTANBUL: Istanbul’s iconic 15 July Martyrs Bridge was illuminated in the colours of the Pakistani flag to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day, highlighting the close ties between Pakistan and Türkiye.

The bridge was lit in green and white, the national colours of Pakistan, in a gesture conveying warm wishes to the Pakistani people on the occasion of Independence Day.

The colourful illumination added a symbolic touch to celebrations marking Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, while underscoring the longstanding friendship and close relations between the two countries.

The gesture was warmly welcomed as a reflection of the strong bonds between the peoples of Pakistan and Türkiye, who have maintained close cultural, diplomatic and people-to-people ties.

Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day on August 14 each year, commemorating the country’s independence in 1947.
