ISLAMABAD: The police of Islamabad came to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House late on Thursday night with arrest warrants for the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, and the provincial president of PTI, Junaid Akbar.
By the time police with the warrants reached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials’ residence, they were told that Afridi and Akbar had already gone. The officers had the warrant in hand, but they were too late because CM Sohail Afridi had already left the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House and Junaid Akbar was not there when the police came.
It is reported that the police left the residence after the encounter and gave the arrest warrants to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House administration. The police did not make any arrests during the visit.
On social media, a PTI leader Shahid Khattak, wrote that Sohail Afridi is in Peshawar and he came from Adiala Jail to Peshawar. Khattak also said that the Chief Minister was not in Islamabad when the police carried out their operation.

Earlier, newly elected PTI Senator Khurram Zeeshan had tweeted about the incident, and confirmed that Islamabad Police, with the help of arrest warrants, have arrived at the residence of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi and the provincial president of PTI Junaid Akbar.
Zeeshan wrote in his tweet: “The police have come to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad with arrest warrants for CM Sohail Afridi and Junaid Akbar.” The tweet was followed by a police raid later in the evening, during which the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House administration was handed the arrest warrants.
