SWITZERLAND: The four-party talks mediated by Pakistan and Qatar have been completed, after which the Iranian delegation has left Switzerland, says Iranian media.
According to Iranian state media, a joint statement will be issued shortly after the talks, which is likely to reveal details about the talks.
According to the US diplomat, progress has been made on keeping the Strait of Hormuz open during the talks. He said that positive progress has been made on some important issues in the talks.
It should be noted that after the statements and threats made by the US President, the Iranian delegation had lodged a strong protest with the US delegation, after which the talks were stalled.
Sources related to the Iranian delegation, while talking to US TV, said that there has definitely been an obstacle in the talks between Iran and the US, but the talks have not completely ended.
According to Iranian sources, back-channel contacts are ongoing to resume the talks and efforts are being made to return the diplomatic delegations.
According to sources, the second phase of the Iran-US talks could not begin after the first round, due to which the talks were stalled.
On the other hand, the Iranian news agency claimed that Iran has refused to participate in the talks further. Mehdi Qurbanzadeh, a member of the Iranian delegation, said that no further discussions on other issues will be held until the Lebanon issue is resolved.
He said that in order to make progress on some important issues, it is necessary to first resolve the basic issues.
