ISLAMABAD: Senior analyst Najam Sethi has said that the last interview of Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf founder Imran Khan sister to Indian media was properly planned, Imran Khan sisters spoke to India Tv on his instruction.
Najam Sethi said that it is not easy to prove allegations of deep links between the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and India, but according to him, there was a formal plan behind the interview given to the Indian media by Imran Khan’s sister.
Sethi claimed that, based on information he had received, Imran Khan had instructed his sisters to engage with Indian media in order to draw international attention to what the PTI describes as human rights violations in Pakistan.
He maintained that these interactions were part of a deliberate and structured media strategy.
Najam Sethi further observed that Indian media outlets continue to give prominent coverage to the former prime minister because some strategic circles in India believe that Imran Khan’s potential return to office may serve their interests.
According to the analyst, certain Indian commentators view Imran Khan as a political figure who could weaken or divide the Pakistani military a perception which, he said, contributes to the sustained attention he receives across Indian news platforms.
Sethi further said that in India’s eyes, Imran Khan is considered a suitable option to achieve its strategic objectives against Pakistan, and that is why the Indian media gives space to his narrative.
