Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has said that Imran Khan had brought the country to bankruptcy by lowering rising oil prices.
While talking to the media at the Expo Centre, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the world is getting rid of petrol in transportation. The EV revolution has taken place. 80 percent of fuel in Pakistan is spent on transport.
He said that the US-Iran war has made our oil weakness clear. We are trying to move towards EVs quickly. 80 thousand rupees are given to convert to EVs. The need is for the transport sector to run on the electricity it generates.
The Federal Minister said that the future of Pakistan depends on our exports. Unfortunately, we have more dollar-consuming and less dollar-making assets. 9 million overseas Pakistanis earn 40 billion dollars. We have to become an earning economy instead of a dollar-consuming economy; otherwise, we will not be able to get out of the clutches of the IMF. We have to increase our ability to earn dollars through exports.
Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan’s economy will be invincible only when our exporters work as much as possible. Pakistan’s development depends on exports. Pakistan can create a big place in the world in the EV sector. Exporters are exporting to different countries, but we need to increase it by another 10 percent. The government has done a lot of work in the FBR so that human suffering can end.
He said that Pakistan is counted among the countries collecting the lowest taxes in the world. Countries that have developed collect 14 to 16 percent tax. If tax evasion continues, how will we serve the people? Those who pay taxes, unfortunately, also pay taxes for those who evade taxes. If they continue to evade taxes, the burden of taxes will fall on those who pay taxes.
The Planning Minister said that Pakistan has been upgraded again after 12 years. Pakistan was bankrupted in the 4 years of PTI. The no-confidence motion in Pakistan succeeded, and Pakistan avoided default. There have been turnarounds in the world due to the best decisions of Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that when oil prices increase in the international market, we are also forced to increase them. At that time, we can see oil prices on Google. The founder of PTI, when oil prices were going up, lowered them and took the country to bankruptcy.
He added that not only is Pakistan suffering from the war between Iran and America, but there has been a wave of inflation in America itself. As soon as prices in the international market come down, we will also reduce the price. The effects of the war are being felt by 193 countries; some people want there to be no agreement. Pakistan and brotherly countries have reached an agreement; hopefully, there will be an encouraging breakthrough soon. We hope that the leadership of the US and Iran will return to the agreement.
