RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been shifted back to Adiala Jail after undergoing a medical examination at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, according to sources.
Imran Khan was taken to the hospital from Adiala Jail around midnight under tight security for a medical check-up. A team of six specialist doctors was reportedly expected to examine him.
Following the medical examination, doctors were to determine whether he needed to remain admitted to the hospital or could be sent back to jail.
After the check-up, Imran Khan was taken back to Adiala Jail under heavy security and has been shifted to his cell.
Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court registrar’s office returned a review petition challenging Imran Khan’s transfer to the hospital after raising objections.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has also indicated that there could be a possibility of Imran Khan being sent abroad. His remarks have sparked discussion in political circles about the former prime minister’s possible overseas transfer.
However, Imran Khan has now been returned to Adiala Jail following his medical examination.
