The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Thursday, August 6, due to development work, annual maintenance, and construction activities on 11KV feeders and 132KV grid stations.
According to IESCO, the approved shutdown will affect consumers in three major operation circles, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi Cantt, and Rawalpindi City. The power suspension will remain in effect from 7:00am to 10:00am in several areas as teams carry out maintenance and construction work to improve the electricity supply network.
In Islamabad, areas under the Bara Kahu and Islamabad-I operation circles will experience temporary power interruptions. Affected areas include Scheme-I, Scheme-II, Green Avenue, Chatta, Kund Rajgan, New Chatta, Royal Avenue, Chatta Bakhtawar, Park Road, Kurri, Rehara, Kuri Sher, Zong Headquarters, Mohra Noor, and CM Park.
In Rawalpindi Cantt, residents in areas linked with Chaklala, Adiala, and Tariqabad subdivisions will face scheduled outages. The affected locations include Kot Jabbi, Rehmatabad, Jail Park, Mecca Chowk, Bostan Road, Kalyal, Adiala Road, Khawaja Corporation, Khasala village, Askari-14, Dhok Noor, Gulshanabad, Rose Lane, Defence Road, Samar Zar Housing Society, PGHS, and Takbeer Project.
Meanwhile, Rawalpindi City areas under Westridge, Tarnol, Misrial, and Asghar Mall subdivisions will also experience power suspension. The affected areas include Gulnar Colony, Qasim Market, Raja Akram Road, Naseerabad, Awan Colony, Peshawar Road, Pind Paracha, Zarkoon Heights, H-13, Quaid-e-Azam International Hospital, Shaheenabad, Faisal Colony, Top City, Nogazi, Dhok Chaudhrian, Westridge Bazaar, Hali Road, Iqbal Road, Churr Chowk, Askari-XI, and Banni.
IESCO said no shutdown has been scheduled for 132KV grid stations and transmission lines during the announced period.
