DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee, Andy Pycroft, has apologised to the Pakistan cricket team manager and captain over barring the captains of Pakistan and India teams from handshaking during the recent match.

According to a statement issued by the Pakistan cricket board (PCB) on Wednesday, after a detailed meeting with the ICC officials in Dubai, the ICC match referee apologised to the Pakistani cricket team manager and captain.

Andy Pycroft prohibited the captains of India and Pakistan from shaking hands during their match. The Pakistan Cricket Board strongly reacted to Pycroft’s actions. He described the incident on September 14 as a result of miscommunication and issued an apology. The ICC has expressed its willingness to conduct an inquiry into the code of conduct violation that took place during the match on September 14.
