BAJAUR: Three children were killed and 10 people, including four women, were injured in an alleged drone attack in the Shenkot area of ​​Lower Mamond Tehsil of Bajaur district last night.

According to local sources, the house of Syed Wali was targeted in the attack, as a result of which the people present in the house were buried under the rubble, and several people were injured.

According to reports, immediately after the incident, local people started rescue operations and pulled the injured out of the explosion site and shifted them to nearby medical centres. Later, all the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Khar for better treatment, where they are being provided medical facilities. The condition of some of the injured is said to be critical.

According to the residents of the area, women and children were present in the house at the time of the attack, due to which most of the casualties were civilians. After the incident, panic spread in the area while a large number of locals gathered at the scene.

This incident has come at a time when two days ago, a child was killed, and a woman was injured in an alleged drone attack in the Inam Khorona Chenagai area of ​​Bajaur. There is serious concern in the area over these continuous incidents.

On the other hand, a protest set-in was also held in Bajaur yesterday against the alleged drone attacks, in which tribal elders, political and social leaders, and citizens participated.

The protesters condemned the alleged drone attacks on the civilian population and demanded that the government conduct a transparent investigation into such incidents, determine those responsible, and ensure the safety of citizens’ lives and property in the future.
