Senior Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi, has claimed that US forces have retreated 1,000 kilometers away from Iran’s borders.
According to Iranian media, in a TV interview Ali Fadavi said that the US army did not retreat on its own will, but due to the power of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IRGC’s ground forces. Ali Fadavi said that for the first time, US warships are not present in the Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman and the northern Indian Ocean.
The Iranian commander claimed that US warships are in full range of the IRGC. He said that the Strait of Hormuz is still under Iran’s control and the IRGC navy has warned ships passing through the southern route of the strait under US surveillance that they can be targeted at any time.
According to Ali Fadavi, only 3 to 4 million barrels of oil are being transported daily through this route, which is negligible compared to the supply before the war.
Rejecting threats of US military action, the Iranian commander said that America failed in Afghanistan and Iraq and will fail again. On the other hand, according to the US Central Command, the US military has diverted 125 commercial ships since July to ensure strict enforcement of the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports.
According to reports, crude oil exports from the Middle East have also increased and in the last week of September, an average of 18.5 million barrels of oil were exported daily.
