The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has lodged a strong protest after Pakistan’s national flag was displayed incorrectly during a Hockey Pro League match against India in London.
According to reports, the issue occurred before the start of the match when the national flags were displayed ahead of the Indian national anthem. The Pakistani flag shown at the venue was missing its white stripe, prompting immediate concern from Pakistani officials.
The PHF formally raised the matter with the event organizers, describing the alteration of the national flag as unacceptable.
Following the protest, the Pro League administration issued an apology to the Pakistan Hockey Federation and acknowledged the error.
The incident overshadowed Pakistan’s match against India, in which the Green Shirts suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat.
The PHF has emphasized the importance of respecting national symbols and ensuring such mistakes are not repeated in future international events.
