ISLAMABAD: The government has changed the profit rates of the national saving certificates, after which the annual profit rates of some of the saving certificates have reduced and some have increased.

In this connection, the Federal Ministry of Finance has issued a notification which came into force from today July 18.  As per details, Defense Savings Certificate profit reduced from 12.96 to 11.94 percent.

Likewise, the Pensioners, Welfare and Martyrs Certificate profit reduced from 13.20 to 12.96 percent, notification, while the annual profit of the Regular Savings Certificate also reduced from 12.24 to 11.52 percent.

Similarly, the profit of the Special Savings Certificate profit reduced from 12.6 to 11.43 percent, while the Savings Certificate profit will remain at 10 percent, which has not be changed.

Apart from that the annual profit of two saving certificates have been increased which included the 5-year Islamic Certificate profit increased from 11.16 to 11.52 percent, notification and the profit of 3-year Islamic Certificate Increased from 9.16 to 11.50 percent.

The National Savings schemes remain among Pakistan’s most widely used government-backed investment options. Additionally, changes in profit rates generally reflect broader monetary and financial conditions affecting the country’s savings instruments.
