ISLAMABAD: Google announced on Thursday that students aged 18 and above are now eligible for a free one-year AI Pro Plan, aimed at enhancing their learning, research, and creativity through access to advanced AI tools at zero cost.

According to a statement issued by the company, the initiative is part of Google’s broader mission to empower students globally by integrating AI into their academic and creative pursuits.

It said under the offer, students would have access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, Google’s advanced AI model, designed to assist with deep research, assignments, and creative projects. The AI Pro Plan also integrates Gemini into popular Google Apps, such as Gmail, Google Docs, SpreadSheets, Slides, and Meet and helps students with tasks like summarising emails, creating study presentations, and analysing data.

In addition, students would gain access to NotebookLM, Google’s personalised AI-powered research and writing assistant. They’ll also benefit from enhanced tools for video creation through features like Veo 3 in Gemini and Flow, allowing for the generation of videos from text or images.

The plan further includes 2 terabytes of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Photos, providing ample space to securely store academic resources, notes, and projects.

The offer is now available in several countries across the Asia-Pacific region, including Pakistan. Eligible university students are invited to sign up and receive free access for up to a year.
