Electricity consumers across the country, including K-Electric, are likely to get a major relief of Rs 63.94 billion.
Discos have submitted an application to NEPRA for adjustment for the first quarter of the calendar year 2026, which will be heard on May 19. According to the application, there was a reduction of Rs 36.83 billion in capacity charges from January to March.
Discos has said in the application that there was a reduction of Rs 11.24 billion in system usage charges and market operation fees, and a reduction of Rs 23.51 billion in incremental units. The final decision on providing relief to consumers will be taken after the NEPRA hearing.
