This fluctuation in gold prices in the local markets of Pakistan and especially Peshawar is mainly linked to the gold rates in the global market and the value of the US dollar in the country. The price of gold globally is currently around $ 4,520 per ounce.

The Sarafa Association across the country, including Peshawar, determines these rates on a daily basis by looking at the global market and the position of the rupee; however, this price may differ by a few hundred rupees in local markets and goldsmith shops in different cities. In addition, when you buy ready-made jewelry, the goldsmith’s labor or making charges are included separately in these rates.
